All About Mrs. Farr
Welcome to my fifth grade class! My name is Jill Farr, and I have been teaching for fifteen years. In 2003, I graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary Education. I also have a Master's Degree from North Carolina State University in Curriculum Supervision and Development. I am certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I am also currently working on a second Master's Degree from the University of South Carolina in Library and Information Science.
My husband and I both grew up in Greenville, but we lived in North Carolina for six years while he attended graduate and law school. I've taught several different grade levels including second and fourth, but my favorite grade has always been fifth. My husband and I have one daughter, Brooklynn, who is ten years old and a rising fifth grader here at Brushy Creek. I also have one son, Hayden, who is six. Hayden will be in first grade this year at Brushy Creek. We also have a sweet dog named Catfish and a not so sweet cat named Piper.
In my spare time I like to read, run, spend time with my family and attend Clemson football and volleyball games. Go Tigers! I also have a huge passion for volunteering. I spend most of my time volunteering for Make -A- Wish. I currently am a wish granter for several children here in the upstate. I also volunteer for the South Carolina Pancreatic Cancer Network.
Here are a few quick facts about me:
Favorite Color: Purple
Favorite Team: Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers
Favorite Children's Book: The War that Saved My Life, Crossover, Three Times Lucky, Lemons
Favorite Food: Cupcakes
Favorite Drink: Grape Gatorade
Favorite Store: Hobby Lobby, Palmetto Moon, Old Navy
Favorite Restaurants: Sidewall, Grill Marks, and Adam's Bistro (I really like to eat anywhere as long as I don't have to cook!)
Things I don't like: Coffee, cold weather and cooking
